A Kiwi Family Story
Our story started a little differently from most. Back in 2005, our founder's mum, Jillian, became unwell. She was living with a serious blood disorder that forced her to stop working and give up many of the things she loved doing. On top of that, mobility became a daily challenge. She relied on a special chair, a grabber stick, and was waiting for a hip replacement.
Determined to help his mum, Dan drew on his science background and began researching solutions from all over the world. That’s when he discovered resveratrol, and the promising research behind it. With help from a trusted supplier, he created a product just for Jillian, hoping it might make a difference.
It did more than that. Before long, Jillian was moving more easily, no longer needed her special chair or grabber stick, and within a year, she was back to her old self. Her recovery amazed everyone around her, and soon, her friends from art class were asking Dan for the same product that had helped his mum so much.
In 2006, Dan realised there were thousands of New Zealanders who could benefit from the same product that helped his mum, and that’s how About Health began.
Since then, it’s been quite a journey. From creating Lester’s Oil (named after his dad) to developing Multiva for Kiwis lacking key minerals, every product has started with a real person and a real problem in mind. Our genuine desire to help others has guided everything, and that caring approach has turned into an unexpected success story.
Today, as the new owners, we continue to put family at the heart of everything we do. We don’t just sell supplements, we build relationships with real people who need support with their health.
